Levels And Serological Markers of Atherosclerosis: A Dose-
Response Clinical Pharmacology Study of study drug In Subjects With
Stable
Coronary Artery Disease (PLASMA)

Research Coordinator: Tonya Goldston, RN, BSN, CCRC
Designated
Site: Medical City Dallas
The main purpose of
the study is to test the effects of study drug on an enzyme, a special
the enzyme secretory Phospholipase A2 (sPLA2)
which appears to be an important factor in the development of atherosclerotic
plaques. The study will also investigate the effects of study drug
on biochemical markers of inflammation and blood lipids, specifically
LDL or “bad cholesterol”, which are involved in the development
of atherosclerosis and can be indicators of risk for heart attack
and stroke.
