Mitchell J. Magee is a thoracic surgeon who joined the CSANT physician group in 1998. His primary practice is located at our Medical City Dallas location. He is Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery and has completed extensive training in minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic procedures, heart and lung transplantation, and ventricular assist device surgery.

Dr. Magee received his M.D. from Los Angeles County - University of Texas Medical School in Houston. During his General Surgery Residency, he took two years out to complete a Masters Degree in Transplant Immunology at the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. During this time, Dr. Magee also completed his Cardiovascular Fellowship in Transplantation at the Texas Heart Institute. He completed his General Surgery Internship and Residency at the University of Southern California Medical Center and spent three years completing his Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Magee's primary interest is heart and lung transplantation. Prior to joining CSANT, he served four years as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and Surgical Director of the Heart Transplant Program for St. John's Hospital and the Prairie Heart Institute.
