Allan Anderson is a native of Austin. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Anderson received his MD at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he also did his internship and residency. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.

Dr. Anderson is a member of HeartPlace, the oldest and largest cardiovascular practice in Dallas-Fort Worth. He is a staff member at Medical City Hospital and is Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services for the HCA North Texas Division. His clinical areas of expertise include general cardiology, echocardiography, and heart/failure/cardiac transplant medicine..

Since 1995, Dr. Anderson has been a member of the Clinical Cardiovascular Management Network, HCA Healthcare Corporation. In that role, he has participated in many research projects and publications. He was named HCA Cardiologist of the Year in 2001.

Dr. Mack's involvement in the creation and development of Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques dates back to 1990 when he became interested in video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS). He holds office on numerous committees concerning Minimally Invasive Surgery, including: The American Association of Thoracic Surgery/The Society of Thoracic Surgeons Joint Committee on Thoracoscopy and Video Assisted Surgery, Video Assisted Thoracic Study Group Committee, Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board on Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, MInimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Interest Group and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons Ad Hoc Committee on New Technology Assessment.

A former AHA Dallas Division President, Dr. Anderson is currently the chairperson of the Quality Committee for the Texas Chapter of ACC. In collaboration with TMA, AHA, and the American College of Cardiology, he has been involved in the leadership of numerous cardiovascular quality improvement efforts in Texas.

Dr. Anderson is married and the father of two children. He is active in Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas and enjoys golf, skiing, and travel.
