Accomplishments
2002 - 2005
The
following is a brief summary of accomplishments by CRSTI affiliated investigators
and faculty that have been supported by CRSTI staff and resources.
Quality
Management Programs
Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), National Database Program
Manage data collection, analysis, and harvest of clinical data for
cardiac surgeons in North Texas. Submit data to national warehouse for
comparative reporting. Database exceeds 35,000 records.
Chart Validation
Perform an annual, random audit of 10% of submitted records.
CRSTI data is utilized for the following:
Abstract Submissions - CRSTI submits clinical abstracts
to major national/international meetings
on a wide variety of topics related to cardiovascular questions.
Presentations - CRSTI Researchers present projects
in numerous venues over a multitude of
issues in cardiac research.
Manuscripts
- CRSTI publishes frequent articles in well respected, peer-reviewed journals.
Educational
Programs
Between 1999 and 2004 the CRSTI Education Department sponsored more than
100 education programs with more than 2800 participants. In 2005 alone,
CRSTI has 12 programs planned, as of mid year. Ranging from grand rounds
to large multi-day education symposiums, CRSTI excels in providing the
needed information today for tomorrows question. Sponsoring both
courses designated for formal continuing medical education credit (CME)
and non-CME programs, CRSTI received accreditation from the ACCME in 2002.
